About Cross Cut Land Worx

We help property owners maximize the beauty, usability, marketability, and long-term value of their land. Here's who we are and how we approach that work.

Our Story

Built on a lifelong love of the outdoors and a belief that hard work still matters.

Cross Cut Land Worx was started by a family that grew up in Michigan, hunting and working the land long before it became a business. We know what it looks like when a property is well-cared for — and we know the frustration of land that used to be productive, accessible, and beautiful that has been left to grow over.

We believe in doing the job right the first time, showing up when we said we would, and treating every customer the way we'd want to be treated. That's not marketing language — it's how we were raised, and it's how we run the business.

With locations in Gaylord and Southeast Michigan, we're able to serve landowners across Northern Michigan and Southeast Michigan without the delays and call-center experience you get from larger regional contractors. When you call Cross Cut, you're talking to the people who will actually show up to do the work.

What Sets Us Apart

Six things we do differently — and why they matter to you.

There's no shortage of contractors who'll take your money and disappear. Here's what makes Cross Cut different.

01
Faith-driven integrity

We treat every customer the way we'd want to be treated — with honesty, respect, and a commitment to follow through on what we said we'd do. Every time.

02
Owner-operated

No franchise. No call center. No subcontracting the work to whoever's available that week. When you hire Cross Cut, the people you talk to are the people who show up.

03
Right equipment for the job

Specialized forestry and land management equipment that clears efficiently, protects the soil, and gets results that general landscapers with smaller machines can't match.

04
Two real locations

Based in Gaylord and Highland — not a regional office with no local presence. Both locations are staffed and operational, serving their regions with the same owner-operated commitment.

05
Long-term thinking

We focus on solutions that improve the health, usability, and lasting value of your land — not quick fixes that look fine for a season and cause problems later.

06
Straight answers

We'll tell you what your project actually needs — not what sounds like more work. If forestry mulching fits your job, we'll say so. If it doesn't, we'll say that too.

Our Equipment & Approach

Specialized tools. Deliberate approach. Lasting results.

Professional land clearing requires professional equipment — not a pickup truck and a chainsaw. We run specialized forestry machinery built for the Michigan terrain: purpose-built mulchers, tracked equipment that handles soft ground and slopes, and the right attachments for whatever the job demands.

Before we start a project, we walk the property. We ask about your goals, your timeline, and what you want the land to look like when we're done. That conversation shapes how we approach the job — and it's the reason our results hold up over time instead of needing to be redone.

  • Purpose-built forestry mulching equipment
  • Tracked machines for soft ground and slopes
  • On-site property assessment before every job
  • Minimal soil disturbance where preservation matters
  • Clean, thorough finish work — not just rough clearing
